Join us for virtual B2B speed networking on Zoom.

networking event
While the pandemic prevents us from safely meeting in large groups, it certainly doesn't mean that we can't still network! We'll be mimicking the in-person event as much as possible by splitting into several rounds of small facilitator-lead breakout rooms where you can give your pitch. Then we'll shuffle everyone up and do it again several more times.

About Northside Networking

NorthSide Networking was created to bring expanded business networking to the Northside Chicago neighborhoods of Edgewater, Rogers Park, Roscoe Village, Uptown, and West Ridge. 10 Tips for Effective Virtual Networking

  1. Add your contact info to the Chat box when you join.
  2. Make "eye contact". Position your camera at eye level and look into it when giving your pitch.
  3. Maintain a professional image. Dress as if you were going to an in-person event, and position a light source in front or to your side (not behind you).
  4. Limit distractions. Declutter your background or use a virtual background. If you have background noise, wear a headset or earbuds.
  5. Be prompt! We'll start on time.
  6. Determine who your strategic partner is and let everyone know during your pitch.
  7. Be generous. Think of networking as "what can I do for you" rather than 'what can you do for me".
  8. Prepare multiple pitches. Changing it up will keep people interested.
  9. Follow up afterward. Connect on LinkedIn and schedule a call or zoom.
  10. Have Fun!
