About the Northside Networking Group

pano of networking event
The NorthSide Networking Group was created to bring expanded business networking to the Northside Chicago neighborhoods of Andersonville, Edgewater, Rogers Park, Uptown and West Ridge. Events are held 5 times per year and the host rotates between the five areas. The success of these events is due to the participation of the community businesses and the word of mouth of past participants sharing with their networks.

8 Tips for Effective NorthSide Networking

  1. The #1 mistake people make is not having enough business cards. Be sure to bring at least 50 cards!
  2. Be prompt! Arrive at 11:30 am for open networking. We start at 11:45 sharp.
  3. Determine who your strategic partner is and let everyone know during your pitch.
  4. Be generous. Think of networking as "what can I do for you" rather than 'what can you do for me".
  5. Invite a friend or associate. Networking is easier with someone you already know.
  6. Prepare multiple pitches. Changing it up will keep people interested.
  7. Follow up afterward. Connect on LinkedIn and grab a coffee.
  8. Have Fun!
